Family Court

The Family Court of Australia has specialist Judges to help resolve the most complex family law disputes. The  Court consists of a Chief Justice, a Deputy Chief Justice, and other Judges.

The Court’s goal is to “deliver excellence in service for children, families and parties through effective judicial and non-judicial processes and high-quality and timely judgments while respecting the needs of separating families”.

The Court’s Canberra registry is on  the corner of  University Ave and Childers Street. The court is open to the public although it is an offence to report the details of any proceedings in a way which could identify the parties.

Information about the Family Court of Australia can be found on their website at www.familycourt.gov.au
