Canberra Family Law – Family courts under pressure – The Australian

By August 5, 2014No Comments

While the number of family law applications in the courts has remained stable, the court system is increasingly under strain both due to Government Budget cuts, as well as the increasingly complex nature of family law matters that proceed beyond mediation to court. The family law system is being ‘swamped by an epidemic of domestic violence, mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse’, says Federal Circuit Court Chief Judge, John Pascoe.

Get good advice from us early on in your matter, if any of those difficult factors apply in your case. Sometimes the difference between having outcomes in court depends on how the case was managed from the start, and what experts were brought in early to identify issues: child experts, forensic psychiatrists, family consultants, business valuers. At Alliance Family Law, we  have expertise in instructing expert witnesses and we know what to ask them to get the right evidence into Court.
