Christmas hours for court registries

By November 9, 2015No Comments

With Christmas looming, please bear in mind the following opening hours for December and January for the court registries relevant to you.

If you are in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, your registry will remain open with minimal staff over the Christmas/New Year period, except for Friday 25 December and Monday 28 December 2015, as well as Friday 1 January 2016.

The National Enquiry Centre will have the same opening hours.

For those using the following registries, note they will be closed from Friday 25 December 2015 and reopen Thursday 7 January 2016: Albury, Alice Springs, Cairns, Canberra, Dandenong, Darwin, Dubbo, Hobart, Launceston, Lismore, Newcastle, Parramatta, Rockhampton, Townsville and Wollongong. Any calls to these registries during this time will be redirected to the National Enquiry Centre.

Although the physical registries will be closed as outlined above, urgent matters will be dealt with by judges in Interstate registries remotely. Such urgent applications include risk of children being abducted, cases involving family violence, cases involving risk of assets being removed from Australia, or otherwise wasted for spent before the court can look into the matter in the usual way.

If in any doubt, please retain our details for urgent matters over the Christmas period: Office number 02 6223 2400 or the mobile phone number 0420 312 114 which will be monitored throughout the Christmas period.
