Every year in May, the legal community gathers to celebrate National Law Week and to promote public understanding of the law and its role in today’s society.
This theme of the 2015 Law Week is “Magna Carta: commemorating 800 years”.
In the ACT, Law Week seeks to raise sponsorships and donations towards the ACT Law Society Foundation, which is a fund operated by the ACT Law Society to assist local charities and other worthy causes as determined by the President of the ACT Law Society.
This year’s Law Week’s events included the Law Week Launch, public lecturers including the annual Sir Richard Blackburn Lecture, the annual Trivia Night, Law Week Dinner and the Domestic Violence Crisis Service Blue & White Gala (both with guest speaker Rosie Batty, 2015 Australian of the Year).

Angela was involved in the organisation of several Law Week events in Canberra through the ACT Law Society’s Young Lawyers Committee.
