The Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) has been commissioned to undertake the “Children and Young People in Separated Families” project. The AIFS website says the project is ‘designed to build on the existing empirical base on separated families and to develop a better understanding of the experiences of children and young people after the separation of their parents and the extent to which their needs are met by the existing family law system services. The project will involve in-depth, semi-structured individual interviews with children and young people aged 10-17 years of age. A short separate interview will also be undertaken with one parent of the child or young person.’

The AIFS are now recruiting both children and young people, together with their parents, to participate. If you would like more information about the project, or would like to register to participate please visit the AIFS website at https://aifs.gov.au/projects/cypsf.
